Located near the northern border of Washburn County, town and bordering townships of Minong and Frog Creek offer a haven for travelers looking to get away from the more crowded tourist destinations. Yet you’re close enough to shopping and attractions in nearby Spooner and Hayward for convenient day trips. Home to the corporate headquarters of Link Snacks Inc., makers of Jack Link’s Beef Jerky, Minong itself offers a full-service grocery store, lumber and hardware supplies, fishing and hunting necessities, one of the region’s largest boat dealers, several restaurants, gift shopping and hand-scooped ice cream. The area’s annual celebration, Minong Summer Days, is held the second weekend of August.
